Our doors are open

This shop took years to get to. Years of hard work, of saving, of putting things off until we could do it properly. Now it is here, and it is ours: every rail, every photograph, every line of text.

Ashcroft is built on one idea. Clothes with a luxurious look and an aesthetic edge, at the fairest prices we can find. Pieces that make you feel put together on an ordinary Tuesday, not only on the days you dress up.

Our mission

We're here for the people fashion tends to overlook: women and men who want to look put together without chasing trends or paying designer prices. That's who we choose for, and who we write for.

We're not like most online stores. No invented reviews, no countdown clocks, no made-up 'was' prices, no 'only 2 left'. Plain British sizing, and a real person answering your email seven days a week.

If your order arrives and it's as good as we said, we'd be genuinely grateful if you'd leave us a review — it's how a small shop like ours grows. And if something isn't right, tell us first: we'd rather fix it than lose you.

How we choose

Every piece is picked by hand, one at a time. We look at the cut first, because a good cut survives a hundred washes and a bad one never looks right, whatever it costs. Then the weight, the drape and the finish. Does the collar hold its shape. Does the hem sit flat. Does the colour look as rich in your hands as it does in the photograph.

If we would not wear it ourselves, it does not go on the site. We write every description ourselves, in plain words. If a jacket is warm enough for a cold morning but too light for January, we say so. If a dress runs small, we say that too.

Fit, in British sizes

We give the British size for every piece, not just S, M and L, and we add a plain line about how it runs where we know it: true to size, generous, or take the next one up. If you are between sizes and not sure, email us before you order. We would rather spend two minutes on that than have you send something back.

The Autumn Sale

For the new season, there is extra off at the till, and it stacks: 15% off one piece, 20% off two, 25% off three or more, applied automatically at the checkout. Complete the look, or take a single piece; either way, you will see it at the till.
